Abstract: Textbooks are of focal attention in everyeducational setting. From 2013 the English books in Iranian school setting changed and the new books called Prospect series came into view. The old version books names English series are not taught nowadays. One of the English series is English One which was taught in the first grade of junior high school. As far as the researchers know there is no research about this book in terms of gender from semiotics point of view, tried to investigate it in terms of socials semiotics of Kress and van Leeuwen (2006). The findings show that males are more present in the images and both genders are collaborating with the readers of this book. The findings also show that both genders are trying to encourage the readers toward establishing communication with showing the gaze toward each other in the images This study has implication for the students of linguistics, course designers as well as English teachers.
